What we provide

We are specialized in Anger Management Training programs

Adolescent Anger Management is a particular focus and specialty of the Anger Management Institute. AMI uses a comprehensive anger management curriculum designed specifically for adolescents. Upon completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Recognize the role of individual responsibility in changing their unacceptable behavior.

  • Utilize a working understanding of anger/stress patterns and responses.

  • Identify and manage “situational anger” thereby avoiding angry responses and aggressive behavior.

  • Eliminate or minimize person-directed aggression.

  • Learn how to prevent confrontations and incorporate new coping skills to handle stress, and other negative feelings.

  • Employ communication skills and listening techniques to enhance interpersonal relationships.

  • Recognize the mood of persons with whom they must interact, and respond in a manor that will to improve rather than impede positive interactions.

The Anger Management Institute classes teach adults how to deal with their stress and anger or someone else's stress and anger in a positive, functional way. Participants may include people who act out verbally or behaviorally towards friends, family, work or personal relationships.

Our adult program is specifically designed to help clients who have been referred by courts, businesses and government agencies and self –referral. Often courts, businesses and governmental agencies are under pressure to use evidence-based anger management intervention. Our model provides an assessment component that is meets this requirement. We are able to assess the success or lack of success in each case.

The Anger management Institute is an emotional intelligence based practice. We use with all of our clients the BAR-on 2.0 emotional intelligence assessment as a pre and post assessment which is able to identify 15 behaviors strengths and weaknesses as well as communication and confidence levels.

All AMI Anger Management Training programs include:

  • Assessment at intake of the participant's level of function in stress management, anger, communications and emotional intelligence.
  • The use of two client workbooks, which include didactic information and exercises focusing on enhancing emotional intelligence, improving assertive communication, and behavioral strategies for recognizing and managing anger and stress.
  • Post-test at termination designed to determine the level of change during the course.

Organizational Training

In order to compete in a rapidly shifting economy, any business must invest in its people power. Successful businesses in the future will focus on developing healthy communication and effective leadership.

AMI’s curriculum uses industry and company-specific examples to integrate your organizational terminology. Tailored for the human resources professionals in your company to improve their approach to anger management issues,

Client's reviews

Jm, Los Angeles CA

Through all of my interactions with Yacine, I have found her to be caring, honest, and insightful while at the same time very professional.

Randee C. Ellington, Oakland (Real Estate Project Manager)

I enjoyed every one of our sessions and I came away with very clear objectives and the next steps toward reaching my goals. If I truly needed help on an issue outside of our scheduled meetings, she is always responsive.

When I separated from my husband I fell into a depression that kept me in bed for days on end. I couldn't talk to friends or relatives; I didn't want to be critized for what I believed was my failure to save my twenty year marriage. I was stuck. I needed an objective, non judgmental ear, I needed a push. Yacine' coaching helped me to map out a strategy for handling my pain and future.

JL, Oakland

In one session I complained that my ex had taken family photographs without the permission I thought he should have asked for. I explained that the holes and faded outlines on my walls, where family pictures once hung left my house looking haphazard and unfinished, they accentuated my emptiness.
'Take the pictures down' she told me. Four simple words, a simple action–which hadn,t occurred to me. Those words freed me, lifted a weight from my heart and gently pushed me to get off my butt and stop wallowing in self pity.

This is Yacine's gift: to question and listen closely to the answers, then break down what seem like insurmountable problems into simple steps, to keep you moving forward and living up to your potential.

Sure, I might have made it through that sad time without her, but I never could have done it so quickly and in such a healthy, thoughtful way. I value her expertise.

I have worked with Yacine several years. She has supported me as I have built self–confidence and have made choices that I never thought I would be making. She has guided me through letting go of my adult children and in improving my relationships with them, starting a business, furthering my education, and making important changes in improving my relationship with my husband. She has supported keeping me at the center when I was ready to defer. It has been an active process moving forward to make this one special life I have indeed the best that it can be

Let's start by saying she cuts through the smoke and gets to the point; no wasted time here. For those of us who run businesses and are short on time, she is efficient and delivers measurable results. what was once unclear became clear and awareness and clarity were the main takeaways. A very worthwhile experience.
